Kyivenergo, in accordance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine on the Electricity Market, passed on its electricity distribution and supply functions to DTEK Kyiv Electric Grids. The new company started to serve power consumers in Kyiv on March 1, 2018. The change of supplier will not affect procedures or the cost of services for clients of Kyivenergo.

DTEK Kyiv Electric Grids will provide services under agreements previously signed with Kyivenergo, so residents of Kyiv do not need to sign new agreements for power supply.
Information and consultation services for clients will still be provided by Kyivenergo service centers, contact center 15-88. It will still be possible to pay for the services using
www.kyivenergo.ua, mobile applications, bank and Ukrposhta branches, and electronic payment systems.
The change of electricity supplier took place within the framework of Kyivenergo's fulfillment of the Law on the Electricity Market adopted in 2017. It obliges all Ukrainian oblenergos to unbundle their electricity generation, transmission, and supply functions in December 2018 by transferring them to newly established companies. This is standard global practice and a requirement of the Third Energy Package of EU to ensure competitive market conditions.
Until November 2018, DTEK Kyiv Electric Grids will carry out both distribution and supply of electricity. Later, within the time limits stipulated in the law, the supply function will be unbundled.
Kyivenergo has taken the first organizational step in the reform of the power market, whose final goal is to approach the standards of the European power sector, which is efficient, reliable, and convenient. "In the future, for customers, this means the improved reliability of the power supply and improved service quality, and a greater number of convenient, modern services," said the CEO of Kyivenergo, Oleksandr Fomenko.

Kyivenergo continues to generate electric and thermal energy, supply thermal energy, and carry out hot water supply and central heating services.
